The company is seeking qualified, experienced, and safety-conscious artisans to join its mechanical operations and contribute to the delivery of high-quality maintenance and construction work on site.
Afriworks Zambia Limited has announced opportunities for experienced artisans in mechanical maintenance and construction. Successful candidates will be expected to deliver quality workmanship safely, efficiently, and within required timelines, while being capable of working with minimal supervision.
Coded Welders – 4 positions
Boilermakers – 4 positions
Mechanical Fitters – 4 positions
Riggers – 4 positions
Depending on the position, successful candidates will be expected to:
Carry out assigned mechanical, fabrication, welding, fitting, rigging, or construction-related tasks.
Perform work in accordance with approved technical and safety requirements.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality.
Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
Follow site safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Work effectively with other artisans, supervisors, engineers, and site personnel.
Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or other work-related concerns.
Carry out duties responsibly with minimal supervision.
Applicants should possess:
A relevant Craft Certificate or vocational qualification, or a recognised equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in industrial or mining mechanical maintenance and/or construction.
Practical experience relevant to the position being applied for.
Ability to deliver high-quality work within required deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Depending on the position applied for, candidates should have practical competence in their respective trade area, including:
Welding and fabrication for Coded Welders.
Fabrication, structural work, and mechanical construction for Boilermakers.
Equipment maintenance, fitting, assembly, and mechanical repairs for Mechanical Fitters.
Safe lifting, equipment handling, rigging, and load-control practices for Riggers.
Ability to interpret relevant technical information and follow work instructions.
Strong understanding of industrial or mining-site safety requirements.
Safety-conscious approach to work.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Commitment to quality workmanship.
Professional and responsible attitude.
These are site-based opportunities within the mining and infrastructure services environment. The roles may involve industrial mechanical maintenance, construction, fabrication, lifting operations, and other physically demanding activities.
