About the Role

The Nursing Assistant will provide day-to-day support to clients receiving mental health care by assisting with personal care, monitoring their condition, administering medication under supervision where applicable, and promoting a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Patient Care

- Provide compassionate nursing care and emotional support to clients.

- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and other daily living activities.

- Support clients with mobility and other routine care needs.

- Encourage clients to maintain independence where appropriate.

Monitoring and Observation

Responsibilities include:

- Observe and monitor clients' physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

- Record and report any changes in clients' condition to supervising healthcare professionals.

- Maintain accurate patient care records and documentation.

- Assist in monitoring treatment progress and recovery.

Medication Support

The successful candidate will:

• - Assist with administering medication as prescribed and according to organisational procedures.

- Monitor clients for medication responses or side effects.

- Report any concerns promptly to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.

Health, Safety and Teamwork

The role also involves:

- Maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive care environment.

- Following infection prevention and control procedures.

- Respecting client confidentiality and privacy at all times.

- Working closely with nurses, counsellors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality care.

- Supporting the organisation's policies on safeguarding, patient rights, and ethical healthcare practice.

Minimum Qualifications

- A recognised Nursing Assistant qualification.
