The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing vision problems, recommending suitable corrective solutions, and helping patients maintain optimal eye health while supporting the day-to-day operations of the optical practice.

About the Role

As an Optometrist, you will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose visual conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide professional guidance on eye health. You will also assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear and ensure every patient receives personalized, high-quality care.

This role combines clinical expertise with customer service, making it suitable for professionals who enjoy working directly with patients in a retail healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and refraction tests.

• Diagnose visual disorders and prescribe appropriate corrective lenses.

• Fit and dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.

• Educate patients on eye care, visual hygiene, and proper contact lens use and maintenance.

• Assist customers in selecting suitable optical frames and lenses based on their visual needs and preferences.

• Perform minor frame adjustments, repairs, and fittings.

• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.

• Support inventory management of optical products and accessories.

• Deliver excellent customer service while helping achieve clinic and sales objectives.

• Stay updated with current optometry practices, technologies, and industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess.

• A recognized qualification in Optometry.

• Valid professional registration or eligibility to practice as an Optometrist in Zambia.

• Experience in clinical eye examinations and vision correction services is an added advantage.

• Knowledge of optical products, lenses, and frames.

• Computer literacy and the ability to maintain electronic patient records.
