Maamba Energy Limited is inviting applications for the position of Shift Boss. The role is based at the company’s Maamba operations and offers an opportunity for an experienced mining professional to contribute to the effective supervision and coordination of shift-based mining activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain high standards of safety, productivity and operational discipline while ensuring that mining activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures and requirements.
Supervise mining activities and personnel during the assigned shift.
Coordinate daily shift operations to ensure production activities are carried out efficiently.
Monitor work progress and ensure that operational targets are achieved.
Allocate personnel and resources according to operational requirements.
Ensure effective communication between shifts and relevant departments.
Identify operational challenges and take appropriate action to minimise disruptions.
Ensure all mining activities are conducted in accordance with company safety procedures and applicable regulations.
Monitor employees and work areas for compliance with safe working practices.
Identify and report hazards and unsafe conditions.
Promote a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.
Support the reporting and investigation of incidents and implementation of corrective actions.
Monitor productivity and equipment utilisation during the assigned shift.
Ensure mining activities are performed according to approved plans and operational procedures.
Report production, operational and safety issues to relevant supervisors or management.
Maintain accurate shift records and operational reports.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving productivity and operational efficiency.
