Job Overview

Healthlane Medical Centre is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated professionals for the position of Theatre Nurse. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring patients receive high-quality perioperative care before, during, and after surgery.

This position requires a compassionate and highly skilled nursing professional who can maintain a safe, sterile operating environment while working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery.

• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures as a scrub nurse.

• Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and the operating theatre.

• Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and provide immediate support where required.

• Deliver post-operative nursing care and monitor patients during recovery.

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.

• Maintain accurate patient records and theatre documentation.

• Work closely with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient theatre operations.

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the operating theatre.

• Ensure medical equipment and theatre supplies are properly maintained and available.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Diploma in Theatre Nursing or an equivalent qualification.

• Full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ).

• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.

• Demonstrated knowledge of theatre procedures and perioperative nursing practices.
