Job Overview
Healthlane Medical Centre is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated professionals for the position of Theatre Nurse. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring patients receive high-quality perioperative care before, during, and after surgery.
This position requires a compassionate and highly skilled nursing professional who can maintain a safe, sterile operating environment while working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct pre-operative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures as a scrub nurse.
Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and the operating theatre.
Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and provide immediate support where required.
Deliver post-operative nursing care and monitor patients during recovery.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records and theatre documentation.
Work closely with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient theatre operations.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the operating theatre.
Ensure medical equipment and theatre supplies are properly maintained and available.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
Diploma in Theatre Nursing or an equivalent qualification.
Full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ).
Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
Demonstrated knowledge of theatre procedures and perioperative nursing practices.
