The consortium is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Electrical & Mechanical Technician.
The Electrical & Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining and inspecting electrical and mechanical systems across project facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The successful candidate will conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with applicable engineering and safety standards.
Conduct daily and monthly inspections of electrical systems, including distribution boards (DBs), cabling, earthing systems, lighting, plaza, canopy, and UPS installations.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out repairs as required.
Test portable electrical equipment to ensure safe operation.
Inspect generators and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems regularly to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Monitor equipment performance and identify potential defects before they result in failures.
Rectify faults promptly to minimize operational downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection reports.
Report equipment defects and maintenance recommendations to supervisors.
Ensure electrical installations and maintenance activities comply with NFPA standards and applicable local electrical codes.
Follow company safety procedures and engineering best practices during all maintenance activities.
Ensure the proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Promote a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards.
Applicants should possess:
Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Relevant trade, craft, technician, diploma, or engineering qualification from a recognized institution.
The ideal candidate should have:
Minimum 3–5 years' relevant experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Experience maintaining electrical systems, generators, UPS systems, and related equipment.
Experience working on large infrastructure or construction projects will be an added advantage.
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Good understanding of electrical distribution systems and maintenance practices.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and preventive maintenance procedures.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
High attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Successful candidates should be willing and able to:
Work on infrastructure and construction project sites.
Perform inspections in outdoor and industrial environments.
Respond to maintenance emergencies when required.
Comply with all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
