The company is looking for experienced and motivated Site Supervisors to oversee construction activities and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

About the Role

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for supervising daily construction activities, coordinating site labour, monitoring workmanship, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety regulations, and project schedules. The successful candidate will work closely with Site Engineers, contractors, and project teams to ensure construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of site labour to ensure work is completed according to approved project plans and specifications.

  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to workers while resolving on-site technical challenges.

  • Organise and allocate manpower efficiently to meet project deadlines.

  • Liaise with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure construction activities align with project objectives.

Construction Quality Control

  • Interpret construction drawings and explain technical details to site teams.

  • Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure compliance with engineering standards and building codes.

  • Conduct routine site inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary.

  • Assist in testing construction materials, including concrete, soil, blocks, and steel.

  • Oversee minor repairs, adjustments, and maintenance works during and after project completion.

Surveying & Setting Out

  • Conduct surveying, level marking, and setting out for construction works.

  • Ensure accurate positioning of foundations, columns, walls, and other structural elements.

  • Verify construction dimensions against approved engineering drawings.

Resource & Material Management

  • Ensure proper use of construction materials, tools, and equipment to minimise waste and maximise productivity.

  • Maintain daily records of labour attendance, material usage, and work progress.

  • Assist with the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and quantity verification during construction.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Promote safe working practices across all construction activities.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain site cleanliness and orderliness throughout project execution.

Reporting & Team Development

  • Prepare daily progress reports and communicate project updates to the Site Engineer.

  • Report site challenges, resource requirements, and project risks promptly.

  • Train and mentor site workers on construction techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • All academic qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

  • Registered and fully paid-up member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).

  • Valid EIZ Practising Licence.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant construction project experience.

  • Strong knowledge of construction principles, site supervision, and project coordination.

  • Proven ability to supervise and manage construction site labour effectively.

  • Practical experience in surveying, level marking, and setting out.

  • Sound understanding of construction materials, equipment, methods, and techniques.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
